Mechanical behemoths stalk North America in a debut Steampunk adventure that is sure to bring a smile to your face.
By: P.J Thorndyke
In a North America torn apart by civil war, Lazarus Longman – explorer and treasure hunter for the British Empire – is ordered to track down the only two men rumored to have seen the fabled Seven Golden Cities of Cibola.
His skepticism about the existence of such a place only grows when he learns that he is seeking Gerard Vasquez; degenerate gambler, drinker and pistoleer and his companion, Hok’ee; a Navajo with a ferocious temper and a mechanical gun-arm.
The British want these men delivered into the hands of the Confederacy so that the war can be brought to a swift resolution. But not everybody wants the Confederacy to win.
‘Golden Heart’ is Steampunk the way it’s supposed to be. Hero Lazarus Longman is Allan Quatermain with added retro-technology.
Thorndyke’s debut has adventure, intrigue and plenty of mechanical marvels.
